LOTD: Fashion Fair palette

This is actually my mom's palette that I decided to take because she doesn't use it anymore. She probably doesn't know it's even gone.

I've never heard of the brand Fashion Fair, but I know that she bought it at the Navy Exchange. It looks like a cheap, tacky make up palette that you would get for Christmas and would never want to use just because you know drug store make up serves with better purpose. However, I googled up the brand and apparently they sell it at Macy's for quite a bit.

The colors on this palette weren't ones that were vibrant enough to my liking, or colors that I would use in general... but I just wanted to play with it for fun.

Btw, I plucked my eyebrows so that when I fill them in they're pencil thin as viewed on the photos below, just the way I like them.

LOTD + Review: Halloween look using a VS palette

I didn't have much time to get ready because I had gone to work on this day. I didn't really have an outfit either... so I had an hour to put on make up as well as cough up an outfit that portrayed a pirate. Initially, I had worn a red and white striped top and my sister goes, "What are you supposed to be? Wanda?" I think that's what she said... but I understood what she meant: the Waldo girl. But anyways...

This was the first palette I ever bought that wasn't from the drugstore. It's actually a limited edition palette from Victoria Secret, and I think I bought it about exactly a year ago. On the top of the over it says "Heidi Klam" and I have no clue who that is, but the palette's exterior caught my eye and I argued that it would be beneficial to the girl I was who lacked a decent eyeshadow palette.

I believe it costed $25 and it was worth it. My favorite colors are the shimmery champagne and matte black colors, of which are the only colors I used to achieve this look. Don't you just love what it's able to do? I know I do.

LOTD: pink and brown

I would like to say that I attempted to do an inspired look, but I'd rather not because it didn't even come close to what it was supposed to look like due to my strong Chinese facial features (my eyes which lack that deep crease).

This Smashbox palette is the third and last palette that I've recently purchased. All of their colors have similar and shimmery colors on them, but heeey you can never have too much make up. Pigmentation is great, but not as vibrant as Urban Decay's.

By the way, I somehow attempted to fake a short hair look. It's pretty impressive what I sometimes do with the lack of effort.

LOTD + Review: Urban Decay Primer Potion

Ever since I started posting LOTD's, none of them have been an actual look of the day, they were more like a look of the hour. However, this is a make up look that I wear out often... a simple brown smokey eye.

I wanted to give an initial, yet legitimate review on Urban Decay's primer potion. Also, I recently bought some Missha eyelashes which I totally love and I'm in dire need to get more... and I shall.

These were at 3:00 p.m.

Now these pictures were at 1:00 a.m. A good 10 hours and there was no creasing whatsoever. The color melted a little, but that was expected, it's still quite vibrant anyways. Btw, I accidentally scratched my eye which is why my eyelash was falling out, but that was towards the ending of the night when it didn't matter.

I've removed my falsies here, and you can see how short my eyelashes are as well as how chinky my eyes are.

(For the record, I've pretty much listed all of the brushes that I use in my previous lotds... if you've got questions feel free to ask/comment me on anything)

My face is oily. I did no blotting or touching up on powder to my skin. I have quite ugly skin... I wasn't blessed with good skin and a few years ago my skin was absolutely horrible. Maybe I'll post up a blog on some before and after pictures about my experience with acne. That's the reason why I don't hesitate as much to post close up pictures of my face. It's because I know my skin could have been worse at this point, because it has.

Overall, I really love this primer. It's no mystery of why it's so popular and with such great reviews. I've joined the primer potion cult and give this a 5/5, for the 3 p's.

Price: 5/5 $23 ($29 + 20% off)
Product: 5/5 This product does what it's made for... must I really say more?
Packaging: I got the professional sized tube so I had no problems with it. I love it!

Have you got any secrets to keep oily skin at bay?

LOTD + Review: Urban Decay NYC palette

My second palette I bought. Heaven only knows how many I have yet to show you. Lol jk I have one more. Heeey, I needed to get my hands on a variety of eye shadow colors due to the fact that I don't have many other than my everyday/typical smokey eye look. This was the cheapest way to satisfy my cravings, by HOARDING up on palettes... yay.

Anyways, Urban Decay is known for having very pigmented and shimmery eyeshadows, and that's exactly what I got, except for a matte light black color. Needless to say, I love love love this palette. Although this palette has similar colors to my Too Faced palette, it's okay because that one was a bargain (calculations done on one of my recent posts). It came with two sample-sized pencils of its 24/7 glide-on eye pencils in Ransom and Zero, as well as a sample-sized bottle of Urban Decay's primer potion. Not bad for $54. It's a shame make up has just been pronounced as my newly-found hobby, I would have gotten the Alice in Wonderland palette after seeing numerous posts on tumblr.
